Luxury jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels has opened its first freestanding boutique in Toronto. It plans to open another store in Vancouver in a few months. The Paris-based brand is also expanding its presence in Canada by opening a partner boutique at Birks in Toronto next year. While the Toronto boutique will offer its full line, Canadian consumers can expect to see pieces from the brand in other cities, too.

The new Toronto boutique will be in the BIRKS flagship store at 55 Bloor Street W. In the fall of 2017, BIRKS will also open a second Toronto boutique. The Toronto boutique will be approximately 1,500 square feet and will feature both a street-side entrance and an interior entrance. Several pieces will be available at the Toronto boutique, so shoppers can take their time and find the perfect piece for themselves.

For gem lovers everywhere, this is the perfect place to find the finest in high jewelry. The Canadian retailer is owned by the luxury conglomerate Richemont Group. Opening four luxury boutiques across the street in the next few months, the new Toronto location will feature a Vancleef & Arpels and Piaget stores.

The exterior of the Vancouver, BC store is adorned with an array of gold tones. Inside, the store features a private viewing room for customers. The company has been in Canada since 2006 and has licensed boutiques inside Birks flagships in Toronto and Vancouver. The store’s interiors are equally dramatic, with custom gold leaf wall coverings, velvet draperies, crystal chandeliers, and black lacquered wood display vitrines.

The store opened to the public this past December. In addition to the famous Alhambra collection, the show features a nine-year-old turquoise and diamond ring and a $116,000 white gold, diamond, alligator-skin women’s watch. The first-floor space features a bridal salon with high-end items and a dedicated space, Salon 1906, which displays vintage pieces in the Van Cleef Collection as well as archival documents. The salon features hand-painted wildlife-themed wallpaper and mid-century raffia furniture.
