Piaget’s contribution to restoration of castle’s former rose garden

The French watchmaker has recently sponsored the restoration of the castle’s former rose garden in preparation for the bicentennial of the Empress Josephine’s death in 2014. This renowned empress was given the name Rose, and her love of roses became an obsession that blossomed into one of Europe’s most beautiful collections. The rose garden at Malmaison once contained 250 different varieties of roses.

The gardens were once occupied by Josephine of Arimathea, who cultivated 250 different species and varieties of roses. She wrote the first history of rose cultivation, and it is believed she held the first rose exhibition in 1810. After Josephine’s death, the castle was hardly occupied. It was later destroyed in a battle, and the rose garden was only occasionally used by the locals.

Maison’s commitment to preserving the rose

Yves Piaget’s commitment to preserving and enhancing fine watchmaking skills began in the 1960s when he began experimenting with the rose. The rose won the Concours International de Roses Nouvelles de Geneve in 1982, and the Piaget rose became an icon of passion and inspiration. Today, the rose still inspires the makers of luxury watches and jewellery. Piaget’s commitment to the rose continues today.

Today, Piaget continues to support the rose, including supporting the New York Botanical Garden and the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden, which Leopold-Metzger calls the world’s finest botanical setting. In fact, Piaget North America sponsors the Rose Garden Dinner Dance each year to help support this garden. By contributing to the Garden, Piaget has helped preserve the rose’s history for generations to come.

Heritage of Piaget’s bejewelled eggs

Historically, the bejeweled eggs were given to Cleopatra by Mark Antony. The film opens with newsreels and historical paintings depicting the wedding exchange. Two of the eggs were discovered during a mid-twentieth-century archeological dig, and a third egg is rumored to exist but has never been found. Today, Interpol has agents tasked with collecting Cleopatra’s eggs.

The brand has been creating jewelry for over 50 years. In the 1960s, the brand started creating a line of jewelry to complement its watches. The brand’s founder, Valentin Piaget, urged his design team to “do something that has never been done before.” The result was the first collection of piaget jewelry. Throughout the years, the Piaget jewelry line has grown tremendously and now accounts for over a third of the brand’s total sales.

Inspiration for Piaget’s Rose Collection

The beauty of the rose has inspired Yves Piaget to create the iconic Piaget’s Rose Collection. Inspired by the grace and beauty of a rose, this collection of jewels features generous flowers on pendants, soft skin close to the neck and diamonds set in the petals. Each piece is an eternal reminder of the love and passion the rose holds for its wearer. The Piaget Rose Collection is a perfect example of the artist’s talent for combining the beauty and elegance of a rose.

Inspired by nature, Piaget has designed the rose collection to be both modern and surprising. The elegant pink rose with gold petals paved with diamonds is the centerpiece of the Altiplano model, while a white gold bracelet set with 253 brilliant-cut diamonds is the star of the Limelight Garden Rose Party Watch. The Israeli model Bar Rafaeli is the perfect companion for the Piaget Rose Collection.
