Women’s Luxury Jewellery – The Bulgari Story
Women’s luxury jewellery is a global phenomenon, but there’s more to this Italian jeweller’s story than just a stunning collection. The brand’s recent campaign features portraits of inspiring women – including Eileen Chang and Artemisia Gentileschi – as the campaign’s faces. Photographs by London-based photographer By Pip showcase the jewellery’s artisanal skills.
BVLGARI
If you’re looking for a piece of women’s luxury jewellery, look no further than Bulgari. This Italian luxury jewellery brand is renowned for their beautiful, high-end accessories, maroquinerie and horology. Their pieces are famous for their brilliance and ability to accentuate a woman’s femininity. Whether you’re buying a new piece for yourself or as a gift for a loved one, you can be sure that Bulgari’s pieces will be a statement of your style.
The brand is also known for its unconventional and daring designs. This collection includes necklaces, bracelets, and rings with unusual gemstones. The unique designs and craftsmanship of Bulgari jewellery have led to numerous imitators and copycats. If you’re looking for a piece of jewelry that will last for years to come, you can rest assured that Bulgari’s pieces will never go out of style.
The Magnifica collection is the latest offering from Bulgari and is named after two inspirational women – Artemisia Gentileschi and Eileen Chang. The jewellery brand tapped into a pool of dynamic and inspirational women for its latest campaign, with portraits of famous women such as models, actresses, and activists, all wearing Bulgari pieces. By Pip shot the campaign. A range of dazzling pieces from Bulgari are complemented by a stunning range of handbags and accessories.
Monete
The iconic Bulgari brand has incorporated coins into their watchmaking for decades. The brand has sourced ancient Roman coins and early twentieth-century American coins for this collection. Earlier this year, the company unveiled two secret watches. The watchmaking company has a rich history and a deep commitment to bold design. The Octo Roma Monete is an ultra-thin manual-winding tourbillon watch with an ancient Roman coin hidden behind the face. The watchmaker’s design team was inspired by a client who wished to make a very modern watch.
The Monete collection includes several stunning pieces. The 18-karat yellow-gold necklace is adorned with a bezel-set ancient coin. The necklace weighs 110.7 grams and measures 16.5″ long. Its coin is 29mm across, including the bezel. Bulgari is well-known for using ancient coins in their jewellery, and this necklace is no exception. The design of this necklace is based on the jogo of contrasts that the Italian jeweler liked to emphasize.
The Octo Roma Monete features a platinum case with a skeleton movement and an ancient Roman coin. The 4th-century Roman coin is a featured piece on the dial cover. The skeletonized version of the BVL 268 movement, which has 253 components, is set in a rose gold case. The Caliber BVL 268 features a flying tourbillon cage supported by a ball-bearing ring. The Serpenti bracelet watch is also made from platinum.
Diva Finissima Minute Repeater
Known as one of the most luxurious watches on the market, the Bulgari Diva Finisssima Minute Repeater is a spectacular timepiece that is both delicate and luxurious. It features a 37mm pink gold case studded with 4.26 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds. A gold-spangled dial also adds to its allure. And it doesn’t hurt that the Bulgari Diva Finissima Minute Repeater costs $187,000 per piece.
The Diva Finissima Minute Repetto celebrates a century of jewelry-making for women. Its unique design makes it the thinnest minute repeater on the market and is set on a gold bracelet. The Diva Finissima Minute Repeater also features an incredibly thin, delicate dial made of platinum and pink gold. The watch’s complications are among the best in the industry, and the thinness of its case makes it a highly coveted piece.
The Diva’s Dream Minute Repeater features the world’s thinnest minute repeater, at only 3.12mm in diameter. This elegant ladies’ timepiece chimes in a crystal-clear melody to express the passage of time. The dial features an artisanal Japanese Urushi technique, in which gold dust is sprinkled onto a black lacquer surface to create a striking effect. The result is a minute repeater that is both thin and luxurious, and a beautiful piece of jewellery to wear every day.
Tubogas goldsmith technique
The name Tubogas means “gas pipe” and describes the goldsmithing technique used to create flexible, hollow tubular chains. This technique does not use soldering or any other processes that require heat or pressure. In its early years, the technique was popular in Europe, where the war had reduced the supply of precious metals. Since then, the technique has also been used to create bracelets and belts.
Giorgio Bulgari was born into a Greek goldsmith family and was confronted with the same supply issues as his Paris colleagues. The goldsmith’s Tubogas technique was based on the symbolism of snakes and closely resembled the skin. By combining the techniques of Italian and French jewellerymakers, he created a bridge between Italy and Paris and drew inspiration from the two countries’ ancient heritages.
A women’s watch made by Bulgari was the first to use this technique, which is still in use today. In fact, the tubogas bracelet is made using a technique called the “Tubogas technique,” in which long bands of metal are wrapped around a flexible tube. This style has no visible soldering and the coiled bands provide the characteristic bounce of the Tubogas bracelet.
Unique designs
Fall has arrived and with it, the season’s unique designs in women’s luxury jewellery. Fall jewelry takes its cues from organic textures and geometric forms in industrial spaces. It is sure to appeal to every style proclivity. The most striking of the season’s designs is the asymmetrical ring from Kendra Pariseault. This piece is reminiscent of waves, and the diamond-encrusted shape in the centre reflects the motion of sound.
The brand Roxanne First, for example, makes fun, affordable luxury jewellery that features recycled metal. Maria Black, meanwhile, specialises in earrings for any body piercing. The pieces balance daintiness and edginess to create eye-catching adornments. If you’re looking for some unique designs in women’s luxury jewellery, take a look at these three designers. Their collections will leave you envious and wanting more.
While working at Edun and Alexander Wang, Danielle First co-founded The Row, a brand that she renamed from her family’s clothing business. The brand is known for its delicate gold pieces, diamonds, and unexpected designs. A collection of vintage pieces is also available. Another designer from London, Bea Bongiasca, created a line of unique jewellery inspired by pop culture and contemporary art.
LVMH acquisition
A logical outcome of the LVMH acquisition of Tiffany is that the jewelry house will gain a bigger slice of the lucrative US market, and that the brand will also expand its offerings. Jewelry sales are growing faster than other luxury goods sectors, including perfumes, cosmetics, and watches. Meanwhile, China’s middle class is fueling the growth of the luxury goods industry, with jewelry sales outpacing other sectors in 2018. The LVMH acquisition of Tiffany places rival Richemont on LVMH’s turf, though, and is unlikely to result in the brands becoming too similar in style and price.
Amid the challenges of the market, LVMH has been putting more focus on its brand image and expanding its international presence. To that end, the French luxury goods giant has hired a series of senior executives to lead the jewelry business. In addition to Ledru, LVMH has also brought in Alexandre Arnault as executive vice president of product. Arnault previously led the Italian luxury goods company’s luggage brand Rimowa.
The LVMH acquisition of Tiffany is likely to benefit the company’s investors as it will not erode its share price. The company will not face any share dilution, and its debt levels will remain low. Furthermore, LVMH has already built a world-class jewellery franchise, so the deal should improve the bottom line. The combination of these brands will enable LVMH to attract a broader luxury market.
